Why I Love Religion, And Love Jesus || Spoken Word

A response to the video "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus". The purpose of this video is to do a response from a Catholic perspective, in a spirit of love, but also with a spirit of passion to defend our Mother the Church. The things that are said are not meant to offend, but we do have to be direct about what we believe and what we stand for. Lyrics:What if I told you that Jesus loves religionAnd that by his coming as man he brought his religion to fruitionSee this had to be addressed, the use of illogical terms and definitionsYou clearly have a heart for Jesus but its fueling atheistic opinionsSee what makes his religion great is not errors of wars and inquisitionsIt's that broken men and women to participate in his missionClearly Jesus says I have not come to abolishI came to fulfill the law and I came to fulfill the prophets (Matthew 5:17)And lines about building big churches and tending to the poorSounds a bit like Judas when the perfume was being poured (John 12:5)See His religion is the largest worldwide source of reliefFor the poor, the hungry, the sick and repentant thiefOceans of compassion, opening wide the doorsFor single mothers, widows and orphans, married and divorced (James 1:27)We all detest hypocrisy, and empty show is just the worstBut blaming religion for contradictionIs like staring at death, and blaming the hearse.See the teacher will teach when the students are ready to listenBut those that choose to sit in the pews and refuse the good newsIs not the fault of religion. And If I have the Jersey and I'm playing for the BullsThere's going to be some boundaries, regulations and some rules. You can't have Christ without his Church; you can't have the King without his KingdomSins of the Body and internal treason will never ever make me leave himAnd that Jesus said it is done, is absolutely trueBut he also gave us a mission with many things to DO.Jesus says if you love me, you will Do what I command. (JN 15:14)Go and Baptize in the name of the Father, Son & Spirit in Every Land. (MT 28:19)And on the night he was betrayed he took his men in the Upper RoomTake at eat this is my body take and drink my blood for you.A New covenant you see, an act connected to the tree,Do this time and time again in Memory of Me. (Mt 26:26-28)And at last with crown of thorns beaten beyond comprehensionHis eyes were looking for yours and mine; it was divine, no human invention. So as for religion I love it, I have one because Jesus rose from the dead and won.I believe When Jesus said IT IS FINISHED, His religion had just begun. @altaredei1 Oh yes I am very special in God's eye. What I mean by these people are the people who took the time out there day to "correct" Jeff .The man in the vid is saying that religion isn't man made look at the definition. Read the bible Jesus never spoke of religion he spoke of faith.Religion has an institutionalized background, a conformity of a system of attitudes, beliefs and practices.Faith on the other hand is the actual belief and trust and loyalty to God.Jeff is speaking on faith. :)

@aubrey12345able Finally, Scripture tells us that in heaven all prayers & worship will be offered, repetitively, before the Eternal Throne of God: The four living creatures, each of them with six wings, were covered with eyes inside and out. Day and night they do not stop exclaiming: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come."-Rev. 4:8

@aubrey12345able Mk 11:9,kept crying out (that is,repeating): "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" (Lk 18:1-8) Jesus told His disciples that they should always pray &not give up. We all repeat our prayers, sometimes a few seconds apart, sometimes weeks apart. Lk.18:1-8 The persistent widow was praised by Jesus for her dogged repetition of her prayer requests. There is nothing in Holy Scripture that says we should change our words or thoughts ea.time we pray.

@BehindCrossroads Any prayer from the heart is acceptable to God. How many times should we repeat "I love you" to our Heavenly Father? The Rosary is meditation on the Gospels. Scripture is full of repetative prayer: Daniel chapter 3, fr.v. 57 on: "Bless the Lord, praise and exalt Him above all for ever" repeated & repeated.Psalms 136,"God's love endures forever" repeated, & repeated. Matt 20:31, Jesus grants the request of the blind men, who offer repetitive prayers for mercy.

@ProphetessAshanti The Church is the pillar of truth (1 Tim 3:15) because there can only be one truth which Protestant denomination to you propose speaks the ONE truth?

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: David82576

@ProphetessAshanti Then why bother renaming Simon to Rock, then saying 'on this rock I will build my Church'?he doesn't say "on your belief I will build my church. He says YOU ARE rock and ON THIS rock I will build my Church.

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: ProphetessAshanti

When the Lord said "upon this rock He would build His church" he was not talking about Peter...He was talking about the TRUTH that JESUS IS THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD...Matt. 16:17-18...verse 17 goes along with verse 18. Also, the Lord's Kingdom is not earthly...John 18: 36.

@BehindCrossroads In other words. How do you know the books in the Bible are the word of God?

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: David82576

@BehindCrossroads Yes. And how do you believe God chose to give us the Bible? Did it fall from the sky? My point is before the Bible was composed the early Church was using several scriptures that are not in the bible today, as well as some groups excluding others like the book of revelations. The Catholic Church then held a council (as they would do in Acts) and determined what books should make up the Bible. Do you believe they had the authority to do so?

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: BehindCrossroads

@David82576 I believe that the Bible is the very Word of God. I love my Bible and I live my life based on the Bible.

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: BehindCrossroads

@altaredei1 I was raised as RC. Baptized. Confirmed. My parents and siblings are still RCs. I read the Bible and it changed me. I was set free from the bondage of religion.

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: BehindCrossroads

@altaredei1 I am not judging you or anyone. I am just pointing out what the Word of God has to say about RC practices. I read my Bible daily and meditate on it. I'm set free from bondage

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: BehindCrossroads

@aubrey12345able No, what I mean is repeating prayers like hail mary again and again is fruitless. Prayers are meant to be dialogues with God and never a recitation exercise.

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: David82576

@BehindCrossroads Heres another question. How do you know the books that were chosen to make up the Bible are the inspired word of God and not other books?Do you trust the Catholic Church the authority to determine inspired scripture from noninspired scripture?

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: David82576

@BehindCrossroads Being Catholic we choose the very word of God. Nothing in Catholic teaching contradicts scripture.Speaking of man made traditions lets look at sola scriptura (bible alone) and sola fide salvation by faith alone). Both invented in 1500 by Luther. No early Church fathers taught this. Do you believe the Church got it wrong for 1500 years? No where in the bible does it say we are to go by the Bible alone, and we are told to keep oral and written teachings (2 Thess 2:15).

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: BehindCrossroads

@MrStealthninja1000 what would you choose: The very Word of God or that of men? That's why forsaken my RC faith because most of the practices are not supported by the Word of God.

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: David82576

@stephanypenguin Ok if you believe everything needs to be in scripture where is Holy Trinity in scripture? The Bible says not everything was written down and we must continue the tradition by letter or oral teaching (2 Thess 2:15). The Holy Trinity, along with the sacraments and asking Saints to pray to God are oral teachings passed down by the Church that do not contradict scripture, yet can be impliedby it.Show me where it says we must go by scripture alone?

Submission Date: 02/22/12 - Comment Author: stephanypenguin

@aubrey12345able i don't pray to my mom. i pray to the God.no saints or the virgin Mary(who i truly respect, because she did give birth to my savior) can talk to Jesus for me. there is no where in the bible where it say. "pray to Mary and the saint, do your 7 sacraments, pray with the rosary". i just believe in the Holy Trinity, and thats as plain and amazing its going to be. a personal relationship
